ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
What we need to know about AI's civilization-altering technology and how to use it for our good while guarding ourselves against the dangers it holds.
I have done extensive research on artificial intelligence (AI), created numerous stories, and had to put myself in the place of my characters as they interact with AI. It has taught me a lot, and more importantly, it has taught me about the danger of AI.
With decades of experience in technology, I am an expert in understanding technology's limitations and its impact when it arrives. "Learning AI Together" is my offering to help mankind prepare for what is ahead.
“I was pointing out with the anthill analogy that A. I. does not need to hate us to destroy us. When we build a highway and clear the land, we kill millions of aunts. We don't hate aunts; we are just clearing the land to build a new highway.
In a sense, if A.I. decides that it needs to go in a particular direction and we’re in the way, it would, without any hard feelings, just roll over us. A. I. does not hate man; it has no emotional connection. It has a problem, and the best way to accomplish it needs to be figured out. It's just building a road.
So, yeah. I think we need to think of intelligence as not being uniquely confined to humans and that the potential for intelligence in computers is far greater than in biology. A. I. is gaining the ability to think, which will not have constraints when it is self-aware or given a stated goal by an individual or group." Elon Musk

. . . Launching into space soon. . .
The Washington establishment is now chomping at their teeth like Wolves at fresh meat and wants what they call "Their technology and intellectual property" back.
As the tension in Washington almost breaks, a reporter asks the stunningly beautiful First Lady Dagny Mace the question everyone wants answered, "Will your husband, the President, make it in the face of the media and government official's cries for him to resign? "
Dagny summarizes it in one sentence for the reporter, who didn't realize he had just tangled up with a mountain lion and wished to return the question.
Dagny stares, "James grew up in Texas breaking eleven-hundred-pound quarter horses before he finished junior high. He's a tough man; he's a good man. I don't think a bunch of politicians and talking heads will be too much to handle.
